Raninbow Stickers

The other day, Becca asked me why someone had a Rainbow Sticker on their car.  I thought about this question for a moment and then I told her I thought people put Rainbow stickers on their cars to show that God loves everyone in the world and that whatever color, country, beliefs, or who they loved no matter what.  As Becca usually does she spent a fun minutes mulling my statement over and then she said to me “Daddy can we get a Rainbow and put it on our car, I love everyone in the world.”  I told her I would think about that as I do not like bumper stickers period.  Well it has now been a week and I do think I will have to get rainbow sticker because I really want to raise a child that holds love in heart for everyone.

A snapshot from Disney's Magic Kingdom

I was very surprised what a wonderful time we had in the Magic Kingdom, over the years many people have looked at me with horror as I did not approve of the family vaction to Disney.  I still think my reasoning was sound, but for a one day visit while visiting relatives we had a good time.  Rebecca still talks about the things she did there and Kristi and I had a nice time.  I think both sets of grandparents enjoyed themselves and we did not spend too much money.

Grandmothers

I was lucky to have my Grandmother in my life for 42 years and she made it to the ripe old age of 97.  I have so many memories of overnight visits and adventures to my grandparents house on top of mountian.  They had a house that looked over Center Valley and on a clear day I could see to Lehigh University.  There were so many things that one could do at my grandparents house, and it was certainly a simpler time. I loved to go down to the corner of the property and then into the woods, which were full of trails and rocks and for me as a child endless adventures. Watching him my grandfather putter around in his garden, and then practices golf, or come up with some kind of fun chore for us to do ae other fond memories I hold n my heart. While the rest of the family did not like my grandmother's cooking. I adored it.  I still have nightmares about the time in fourth grade that I told my mother I liked my grandmother's cooking better than hers. One of the many mistakes I would make  before I learned to be less than honest with women. Age and experience tell me that my mother was the better cook, but my grandmother did have a magic hold upon my heart.  My cousin Fred agrees with me that there is no one that made a better hamburger pot pie then grandmother. My wife is an excellent cook and while I enjoyed basically everything she makes and I am a big fan of her beef stroganff,  she has never come close to what my grandmother would make. This is very curious because overall my grandmother did not have much skill at cooking.Fred and I have spent hours pondering what she could possibly have put into her hamburger pot pie. The sad conclusion is that it probably had to be magic because nothing else makes sense. I will write more later about my grandmother and my adventures with her. Have a good evening, dear reader, although as far as I can tell I don't really have any dear readers.

The Drive Home.

Fun driving home this week, yesterday came upon a poor women, who had just had a stroke and today watched a little boy hiding form his family in front of his house while they were in the back  drop his pants and make a number two.  I will say many people came to the assistance of the women having problems and we all worked as a team to get help there as quick as possible.  The way everyone helped was very touching and I do hope the women is all right.
